The fact that we are engaged in battle is very evident to the believer as we struggle every day with sin and the world. The object of our struggle is to overcome, the Devil, the world and ourselves, to defeat sin and conquer the very gates of hell through the victory of Christ. The believer is commissioned into this battle from the moment they accept the truth of the Gospel and make no mistake that this battle is a life and death all out war.
The purpose of learning sound tactics and strategy is to strengthen the believer and provide wisdom for victory instead of defeat. A prepared soldier who is trained in tactics and strategy has the firm foundation with which to mount a successful engagement against the enemy. Without this foundation you are akin to an untrained army hastily attacking a seasoned army of veterans, ultimately you
will fail.

Satan is a brilliant tactician and he has been waging war against us for thousands of years with 1/3 of the once heavenly army of angels and existed since before the universe was even created with full knowledge of heavenly and earthly things. It is not a glorification of his power but a fact of scripture that he is the deceiver of the entire world. He knows he can’t win the war but his goal is to drag as many of Gods most beloved creations down with him into hell by winning the battles. In all honesty without solid strategy and tactics you have absolutely no chance whatsoever of overcoming him and your battles will be lost.
Look closely at some very real facts about sin and how easy it is for it to infiltrate your life. It is akin to biological warfare, Satan attacks you just like a virus or infection, it starts small at first and spreads slowly consuming its victims and by the time you even notice the symptoms it’s already too late. One idle thought becomes the seed and soon the sinful desire builds within until the act becomes a mute point. What did our commander and chief say about this?
